| Vectorvision vs Astrovision |
Both of these aerial camera systems were designed and built by
genius, Academy Award winning remote system designer / engineer
Bob Nettmann. Over thirty years ago Bob conceived and built
Astrovision as a means of making air-to-air filming safer after losing
a friend in an aerial filming accident. He entered Astrovision into an exclusive operational agreement with Clay Lacy Aviation.
After fifteen years, and literally hundreds of air-to-air shoots, Bob
continued to scrutinize and analyze the shortcomings and creative
latitude restrictions of his Astrovision system. Considering the
extensive modifications that would be required to improve the
system, Bob decided to completely scrap the original Astrovision
design and started over from ground zero. The result was the birth
of VECTORVISION.
FASTER OPTICS to permit consistent high quality results in "magic
light" conditions. INCREASED LOOK-UP capability added to the
optical relay. ZOOM CAPABILITY to allow the cameraman to safely combine pilot maneuvers with framing. The most significant upgrade
was the addition of steerable HORIZON ROLL CONTROL within the
optics. With the added creative latitude provided by the incredible
new Vectorvision system a director, cameraman and pilot are able
to choreograph virtually any imaginable aerial sequence in any
lighting condition. The resulting improvements are stunning.
To add an additional layer of quality to the mix, Bob decided to form
a new exclusive alliance with premier aerial film production service
provider WOLFE AIR AVIATION. Wolfe Air meticulously integrated
the Vectorvision Systems into their pristinely maintained, Stage III
hush-kit equipped Learjet 25B. The 25's Dash-6 "raw jet" engines
deliver the instant agility and maneuverability necessary to provide
those perfectly smooth, high performance "aerial dolly moves." The
client is now unrestricted because the director, cameraman and pilot
are unrestricted. The TEAM is free to create without being held back
by the limitations of Astrovision. By combining the optimum jet
platform with Bob's amazing state-of-the-art technology, along with
the finest pilots, cameramen and technical support personnel, Wolfe
